Major Chandrakanth (1966 film)

Major Chandrakanth is a 1966 Tamil film directed by K. Balachander. The screenplay was based on a play of the same name by Balachander himself. The film stars Jayalalithaa, Muthuraman, Nagesh, A. V. M. Rajan, and Major Sundarrajan in the title role. Sundarrajan who portrayed the role of a retired blind army major acquired the prefix Major and was more commonly known as Major Sundarrajan there after. The film was first made in Hindi as Oonche Log in 1965. The film was remade in Kannada as Karune Illada Kanoonu.
